Event Navigation

In mindfulness one is not only restful and happy, but alert and awake.

Meditation is not evasion; it is a serene encounter with reality.– Thich Nhat Hanh

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a gentle meditation technique whereby we simply direct our full awareness to our moment-by-moment experience. We bring a curious, open, accepting and kind attention to what we are experiencing in the present moment.

Why Take a Course?

In the guided mindfulness practice evenings, there is an emphasis on integrating the mind and body and relating to our experience with kindness, curiosity, openness and acceptance. This is a perfect structure to improve wellbeing and bring more self-care into our lives. Mindfulness offers the possibility of a more calm and peaceful way of being. No prior experience of meditation is necessary for either course.

Scientific research(e.g. Chiesa &Seretti, 2010) suggests that mindfulness improves mental health (including lowering stress, anxiety, depressive thinking and increasing self-compassion), and may have positive effects on emotions and the immune system.  Furthermore, it may improve wellbeing in a range of physical ailments, including chronic pain, arthritis, cardiovascular issues and fibromyalgia.
